In 2014, we were approached by a couple to achieve a dream space within their existing home. They wanted to expand their existing bar, wine, and cigar storage into a new one-of-a-kind room. Proud of their Italian heritage, they also wanted to bring an "old-world" feel into this project to be reminded of the unique character they experienced in Italian cellars. The dramatic tone of the space revolves around the signature piece of the project; a custom milled stone spiral stair that provides access from the first floor to the entry of the room. This stair tower features stone walls, custom iron handrails and spindles, and dry-laid milled stone treads and riser blocks. Once down the staircase, the entry to the cellar is through a French door assembly. The interior of the room is clad with stone veneer on the walls and a brick barrel vault ceiling. The natural stone and brick color bring in the cellar feel the client was looking for, while the rustic alder beams, flooring, and cabinetry help provide warmth. The entry door sequence is repeated along both walls in the room to provide rhythm in each ceiling barrel vault. These French doors also act as wine and cigar storage. To allow for ample cigar storage, a fully custom walk-in humidor was designed opposite the entry doors. The room is controlled by a fully concealed, state-of-the-art HVAC smoke eater system that allows for cigar enjoyment without any odor.

What can beat a beautifully painted accent wall? We would have to answer an amazingly textured wall of stone. This stone accent wall idea is covered in Oyster Shell Natural Quartzite Ledge stone. The wall is highlighted with lighting above which captures the natural quartzite adding a sparkle to the finish. Yes, it will cost you more to put stone veneer but it will be worth it. This entire stone panel wall becomes the focal point of the room. This is something that you can do yourself if you have the time and the know how. Create this wall in your home as a weekend project. You really can add stone to your interior wall and make a big impact to any room.

Essex County natural stone veneer covers this accent wall in a all season room. Bringing the outside in with stone veneer is made beautiful with natural stone. The blue sofa in this space further draws your eye to the various earth colour tones in the natural stone. This is a space that will be easy to relax in.

This penthouse was stripped to a raw concrete shell and the floor plan and plumbing were relocated to the clients desires. Materials are wood, stone and paint colors that were very muted and relaxed. The master bath features a stack Dakota blue limestone wall that was hand cut and laid. This material is not difficult to find and is labour intensive to finish. The master Bath was also clad in Cream marble. The interlocking wood panels cover all four sides of a circulation hub, the nucleus of the home." In the formal living area, a mother-of-pearl accent wall provides the leading contemporary feature. A young Mexican couple approached us to create a streamline modern and fresh home for their growing family. They expressed a desire for natural textures and finishes such as natural stone and a variety of woods to juxtapose against a clean linear white backdrop. For the kid's rooms we are staying within the modern and fresh feel of the house while bringing in pops of bright color such as lime green. We are looking to incorporate interactive features such as a chalkboard wall and fun unique kid size furniture. The bathrooms are very linear and play with the concept of planes in the use of materials.They will be a study in contrasting and complementary textures established with tiles from resin inlaid with pebbles to a long porcelain tile that resembles wood grain. This beautiful house is a 5 bedroom home located in Presidential Estates in Aventura, FL.

This residence boasts many amazing features, but one that stands out in specific is the dual sided fireplace clad in Eldorado Stone's Black River Stacked Stone. Adding stone to the fireplace automatically creates a dramatic focal point and compliments the interior decor by mixing natural and artificial elements, contrasting colors, as well as incorporating a variety of textures.
